CAMBRIDGE, MD— The new Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina opened here Aug. 29, the first full-service resort on the Mid-Atlantics eastern shore. Maryland Governor Parris Glendening cut the ribbons to officially open the doors of the 400-room resort. More than 400 guests, including community members from the Chesapeake Bay area, attended the grand opening ceremony. Guests also included executives from Quadrangle Development Inc., of Washington, DC, and Clark Enterprises, of Bethesda, MD, developers and part-owners of the $155 million resort. Built on over 342-acres, the property features an 18-acre nature preserve with guided hikes and wildlife observation, two private beaches, 150-slip marina, an 18,000-square-foot spa, a glass-enclosed pool and lounge area, an 18-hole Keith Foster-designed championship golf course, four tennis courts and a fitness center. In addition, the resort offers six restaurants and lounges, more than 42,000 square feet of meeting and event space and a full-service business center.
