PORTLAND, OR—Hilton Portland is set to undergo a multimillion-dollar renovation. The upcoming property-wide transformation, slated for completion in spring 2017, will include renovations to the guestrooms, a lobby reconfiguration, 6,500 sq. ft. of new meeting and event space, as well as new restaurant and bar venues.

Set in the heart of the city’s downtown, Hilton Portland & Executive Tower is currently comprised of 782 guestrooms. In the first stage of the renovation, this building will be completed to include 60,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, which reflects the 6,500 sq. ft. of additional meeting space that resulted in the conversion of the former athletic club to two new breakout areas. The new fitness room has been relocated and opened on the first floor. On the second floor of the main building, a 5,500-sq.-ft. ballroom has been added. Additional breakout space was expanded by 600 sq. ft. to support the Plaza Level.

The next phase of the project will be the renovation and redesign of the first-floor hotel lobby. This will include a new front desk and a communal seating area. This lobby area, which has been reconfigured, will include design elements that draw on the locale by incorporating warm materials that are indigenous to the region, according to the brand. With inspiration pulled from the city’s 1960s mid-century roots, the new guestroom design will incorporate a clean and contemporary feel with the addition of new artwork, furniture, technology and more.

The Executive Tower building of the Hilton Portland, located across the street from the main tower of the hotel, will also undergo a complete transformation and will evolve into a boutique lifestyle hotel concept complete with a new name, according to the brand. This space will also include a restaurant, Jackrabbit by Chef Chris Cosentino, to be completed in Spring 2017.
