NEW YORK The 230-room Hilton Budapest WestEnd, which is due to open in July 2001, marks the first mixed-use development in Hungary, combining a shopping centre, office space and a major hotel. The hotel, currently under construction, is being developed by owner TriGranit Rt,and is situated within the WestEnd City Centre. According to the hotel s general manager, Gisela Munchgesang, the area is expanding and is providing a popular location for companies to base their headquarters. The Hilton will share its summer debut with the opening of a 165-room, four-star Art Otel and a 218-room, five-star Le Meridien hotel in the building formerly known as the Adria Palace. (12/8/00)
