GEORGE TOWN, CAYMAN ISLANDS –Howard Hospitality Group (HHG), has revealed the latest details surrounding its development planned for the former Pageant Beach site here.

The company recently submitted plans for a $285 million new-build property, which will feature a 456-room resort and condominiums and highlight the site’s beachfront location, with close attention paid to environment sustainability. The property was planned with the advance support of the Department of Environment, according to HHG.

“As a company, we are passionate about making and maintaining a positive contribution to the Caymanian economy, and preserving the integrity of the island as much as possible as we work to develop the tourism landscape,” said Howard Sitzer, chairman/HHG. “Our new resort project on the site of the former Pageant Beach is being designed in a way that will mirror HHG’s own appreciation for the environment and exceptional design, with welcoming, liveable architecture and amenities. Our goal is to create a place that helps locals and travelers experience the very best of the Cayman Islands on all fronts.”

The National Conservation Council has indicated the development will not be required to go through an additional Environmental Impact Assessment, said the company, although HHG and Trio Architecture are continuing to work working in tandem with the Department of Environment throughout construction.

Upon completion, the resort will have a sleek layout with seven food and beverage outlets (including a rooftop bar and grill), a rooftop spa, a movie screening room, a rooftop infinity pool and three additional pools. The property also will feature 35,000 sq. ft. of function space.

Six waterfront villas, as well as condominiums, will be available for purchase.

HHG plans to begin construction in first quarter, with an opening tentatively slated for 2020.
