ATLANTA? Scott Heintzeman, vp/knowledge technologies for Carlson Hospitality Worldwide, was inducted into the Technology Hall of Fame at the recently held HITEC event. Heintzeman received the award, which was created by the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) in 1989, for being a technology pioneer and a respected authority in the hospitality industry. Heintzeman?s accomplishments include leading the team that developed and patented the highly successful ?Look to Book? travel agent incentive program, and initiating the design of seamless interface between Carlson Hospitality?s central reservation system and the global distribution systems used by travel agents to book air, hotel and car rentals. In Smithsonian Collection Documentation regarding Heintzeman?s re-architecture of Carlson?s central reservations systems, ?Curtis-C,? is included in the Smithsonian Institution?s permanent collection on the information age. Heintzeman orchestrated the deployment of the HARMONY management system and its suite of products for Carlson?s hotel brands. Heintzeman is the founding president of HEDNA (the Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association), which is acclaimed as the industry?s foremost association for electronic distribution. Heintzeman is the 19th individual to be inducted into the Technology Hall of Fame.
