GENEVA, SWITZERLAND— The Global Hotel Alliance, which already consisted of four independent and individual brands, has added three Asia-based brands, significantly increasing its presence in that region. GHAs goal is to provide small to mid-size regional brands with the marketing tools to compete more effectively with global companies for business coming from outside their home territories. The Alliances four original members were Kempinski Hotels, Omni Hotels, Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts, and Rydges Hotels and Resorts, representing Europe, the United States, Singapore and Australia, respectively. Joining the group are members of the former Asian Hotels Alliance: Thailand-based Dusit Hotels and Resorts, Taiwan-based Landis, and Hong Kong-based Marco Polo Hotels.
