SAN FRANCISCO—Following its acquisition of Le Meridien one year ago, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. officially relaunched the brand here yesterday via an installation of light and art at the new Le Meridien San Francisco, located at 333 Battery St. At the event, lighting designer Thierry Dreyfus transformed the property into a 24-story tower of Mondrian-inspired light and color. The installation will remain at the property until January 31. The installation also was designed to illustrate Le Meridien’s new brand direction, and become a signature part of the opening of new Le Meridien hotels around the world. Other Le Meridien hotels are scheduled to open in Shanghai, China, on December 1 and in Split, Croatia in April 2007.
