GLEN COVE, NY- After several years of planning, Glen Cove, NY yesterday issued a request for proposals to develop 50 acres of waterfront property into a tourist location.

The city said it was seeking $150 million in private investment to build a 250-room hotel and conference center, a marketplace with restaurants and boutiques and a separate area with bookstores, galleries or sports and health centers.

Glen Cove was also seeking an operator for a high-speed ferry to Manhattan. (11/2/00)
