HALLANDALE, FL—Gemstone Hotels & Resorts, a full-service hotel management company, has opening the European-style Beachwalk Resort on the intercoastal waterway here.

The $150-million, 33-story resort is the latest project by The Related Group of Miami, a developer of luxury condominiums and multifamily residences, and is comprised of 300 units, 216 of which are divisible two-bedroom suites. It is the first of three Broward County projects currently under development by The Related Group that Gemstone will operate.

“Gemstone has an impeccable track record of maximizing and managing complex resorts in top vacation destinations throughout the U.S.,” said Jorge Pérez, CEO of The Related Group. “By partnering with Gemstone on these projects, we are able to successfully expand our focus to include luxury hospitality services in our residential projects.”

“The Beachwalk Resort is in the heart of everything visitors want from a South Florida vacation,” said Jeff McIntyre, principal of Gemstone. “An amenity-rich resort with this combination of location, high-style and casual vibe is certain to resonate with both domestic and international vacationers who travel here for world-class shopping, beautiful weather, sandy beaches, racetracks, gaming and more.”

Beachwalk bears many of the design hallmarks of The Related Group’s residential projects, according to the company, including interiors designed by Pininfarina using palettes of white and brown and featuring contemporary Italian furnishings. The international design group is known for its work with brands such as Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and BMW. The hotel features original works of art from Pérez’s personal collection.

The resort offers a three-story beach club with pool, lockers, showers, restrooms, an outdoor bar and restaurant with chaise service and beach facilities, all accessible by a complimentary, electric trolley. The resort’s restaurants include Beachwalk Bistro & Market, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, as well as grab-and-go items, and the Beachwalk Bar and Pool Grill.

An infinity-edged pool, contemporary fitness center, complimentary bicycles for city touring, grocery shopping services and a complimentary shuttle service to the Hollywood Boardwalk, Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino and Aventura Mall are among the resort’s amenities.
