ANCHORAGE, AK— HVM LLC., the operator of Extended Stay Hotels, has opened its first property in Alaska. The newly acquired 138-room hotel here in Anchorage was formerly an Aspen Suites Hotel and will be reflagged as an Extended Stay Deluxe. Extended Stay Hotels is planning to upgrade the property with new bedspreads and carpet in the guestrooms, according to Gary DeLapp, president/CEO of HVM. A hot tub will also be added to the hotel, which is located at 700 East 34th Ave. Extended Stay Deluxe, a new mid-scale brand from Extended Stay Hotels, features full kitchens; free voicemail; wireless Internet access; laundry facilities; enhanced amenities, such as DVDs in all rooms; and pools, hot tubs or fitness centers, depending on location. With this acquisition, Extended Stay Hotels now has a portfolio of more than 670 hotels in 44 states.
