SAN JOSE, CA Clint Eastwood has been cleared of charges that his Mission Ranch Inn violated the Americans with Disabilities Act. The jury deliberated for four hours on Thursday and Friday. According to juror Lorenzo Guiterrez the jury agreed right away that the plaintiff, Diane zum Brunnen, was looking for violations so that she could sue.

Zum Brunnen, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, uses a wheelchair and claimed that during visits in 1995 and 1996 the wheelchair-accessible bathroom was in a separate building and the only accessible room cost considerably more than other rooms. In addition, she claimed that the main office had no wheelchair ramp.

Zum Brunnen was not present when the verdict was read. (9/29/00)
