ROCKLEIGH, NJ—Dolce Hotels and Resorts will manage a new urban lifestyle hotel to be built in Palm Springs, CA.

Construction on the 200-room hotel is expected to begin during the first quarter of 2014 and be completed by August 2015. This will be Dolce’s third property in Calfironia and second urban lifestyle hotel, following the opening of The Alexander, A Dolce Hotel in January.

Located across the street from the Palm Springs Convention Center, the hotel will offer 15,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space, outdoor event space, two restaurants, a lounge, recording studio, screening room, outdoor pools, a 7,500-sq.-ft. spa and fitness center.

The owner and developer of the Palm Springs project, Praetor Investments LLC of California, retained Allen + Philp Architects / Interiors, a Scottsdale, AZ-firm for the design. According to the company, the crescent-shaped hotel structure will pay homage to modern and international architectural styles that distinguish Palm Springs. Both the lobby and garage are underground, and a floating staircase will lead to the main level and continue up to the restaurant and lounge on the second floor. A 7,500-sq.-ft. rooftop terrace and pavilion with views of the nearby San Jacinto Mountains will host outdoor events.
