ENGLEWOOD, CO—Destination Hotels has added Hotel De Anza in San Jose, CA, to its fleet of 43 independent hotels and resorts. The 100-room hotel will undergo a series of renovations next year, which will accentuate the historic features of the property and create a tech-savvy experience for the local business community. The hotel was acquired by Lowe Enterprises Investors (LEI) on behalf of an investment client.
The hotel is centrally located in downtown San Jose within walking distance to the SAP Center, San Pedro Square and McEnery Convention Center.
The Hotel De Anza, designed by famed architect H.H. Weeks, opened its doors to the public 70 years ago, during the heart of the Depression. Luminaries such as Eleanor Roosevelt, The DuPonts, Henry Kaiser, Jack Dempsey, Susan Hayward, Paulett Goddard and Fred MacMurray were just some of the legendary guests of that era to visit the De Anza, according to the hotel. The AAA Four-Diamond property features La Pastaia Italian restaurant with accompanying Caffe La Pastaia grab-and-go concept; Hedley Club, which often features live jazz music; and 5,800 square feet of meeting/function space.
In the state of California, Destination Hotels operates Resort at Squaw Creek in Lake Tahoe, Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes, Town and Country Resort and Paradise Point Resort & Spa in San Diego and L’Auberge Del Mar in Del Mar.
