WASHINGTON—The Darcy Washington DC, the newest member of Curio Collection by Hilton, has opened six blocks from the White House.
The 226-key hotel’s design is contemporary and was designed by Christian Schnyder, owner and principal of Beleco Designs in Los Angeles. The American Beauty Rose, the official flower of the nation’s capital, inspires the hotel design. The hotel uses European-inspired elements of mixed wood with metals and bright colors.
The signature lobby has a restored living room with classic architectural touches, like rose carvings on wooden archways, honeycomb-panel flooring and black-painted exposed brick. Guestroom art reflects the area’s history.
Highlights include A Siren’s Song, a restaurant by chefs Robert Wiedmaier, Brian McBride and chef de cuisine, John Critchley, with a focus on seafood from around the world.
Other amenities include meeting spaces and a ballroom for up to 200 guests along with an outdoor patio.
