LISBON, PORTUGAL—The Avani Avenida Liberdade Lisbon Hotel has opened here, marking Avani Hotels & Resorts’ first property in Europe. The property islocated off the fashion-forward Avenida da Liberdade, with tree-lined esplanades flanked by designer shops and continental sidewalk cafés.
Formerly Tivoli Jardim Hotel, the property has undergone an extensive $1.5-million refurbishment, which includes a redesign of the facade, guestrooms, lobby and reception, the installation of a gym and the relaunch of the Olivier Restaurant. The dining venue forges contemporary, ingredient-focused food with a Portuguese accent. A buffet breakfast is served outdoors on the terrace.
The 119 rooms are available in standard, premier, deluxe and family accommodations, and decorated simply in subtle shades of plum, black and white. Amenities include a Nespresso coffeemaker, satellite TV, minibar and WiFi. All rooms have balconies and standard rooms have garden views.
It is a short distance from Lisbon International Airport and within walking distance of the underground station, Rossio train station and Tram 28.
