AURORA, CO—Corporex Colorado, LLC will break ground here Sept. 17 on the Hyatt Hotel and Conference Center at Fitzsimons Village.

Designed by TAAG Architecture and Design Force Interior Design, the $90-million development project includes a 249-room Hyatt full-service hotel and a 30,000-sq.-ft. conference center, which will be Aurora’s first conference space.

Construction of the hotel and conference center marks the next phase of the Fitzsimons Village development, and it is expected to be completed by first-quarter 2016. The City of Aurora is the development partner to Corporex Colorado on the project and will own the conference center and garage.

Corporex will own and operate the Hyatt Hotel. Turner Construction has been named the prime contractor on the project.

The site is home to several healthcare facilities, including Children’s Hospital Colorado, University of Colorado Hospital, the Veterans Affairs Hospital and many highly specialized centers and institutes.

Fitzsimons Village is a mixed-use development located directly south of the Anschutz Medical Campus and Fitzsimons Life Science District. Joining the full-service hotel and conference center in the future will be a seven-story, 208,000-sq.-ft., Class A office building and a 490-unit apartment project.
