MIAMI—Club Med is currently taking reservations at its new flagship, all-inclusive snow resort, Club Med Val Thorens, which will open Dec. 14.
With access to The Three Valleys in the French Alps, the new resort sits at an altitude of 7,545 ft. with 372 miles of ski slopes. All ski and snowboard equipment will be prepared and placed in guests’ personal lockers prior to arrival, and guests will also receive an online subscription to ski and snowboard classes. A 360-degree digital ecosystem will include a specialized resort app, which will provide mobile check-in, interactive screens in-room, informative screens and WiFi throughout the slopes. Other participative digital experiences will include a social jukebox to create a resort playlist, a photo booth and kinetic dancing.
The resort will offer 384 rooms, including 12 deluxe rooms, five junior suites and six suites. It features vibrant, contemporary architecture by Studio Arch designed to capture the beauty of the surrounding mountains and flood the interior with natural sunlight, according to the company. The interior by Sophie Jacmin was designed to offer an upscale yet cozy atmosphere.
Two Michelin-starred chef Edouard Loubet, who is originally from Val Thorens, is creating the dinner menu for the resort’s concept restaurant, Epicurious, with chef Thierry Van Rillaer and his team taking the helm in the kitchen. In the Comptoir Gourmand, lunches and dinners will offer mountain-style sandwiches, fresh soup of the day and regional specialties, as well as dinners crafted from authentic mountain recipes. Bar tout chaud will offer teas, coffees and a selection of hot drinks, while La Cave a Vins will offer pre-dinner drinks and tapas served from street food stalls.
