GREENBELT, MD—Chesapeake Hospitality, a third-party hotel management company based here, has taken over management of the Hilton Garden Inn Sarasota-Bradenton Airport and the Hampton Inn Sarasota I-75 Bee Ridge, both located in Sarasota, FL.

“Chesapeake Hospitality is extremely pleased to add these properties to our portfolio,” stated Kim Sims, president of Chesapeake Hospitality. “Not only because they are great hotels with unlimited growth potential, but also because this acquisition demonstrates that our results-focused hotel management approach resonates with owners nationally and continues to open doors for our team.”

Chesapeake officially took over management of the properties on Thursday, Nov. 21. Both the 115-room Hilton Garden Inn and the 121-room Hampton Inn offer guests heated outdoor pools, complimentary WiFi, 24-hour business centers and PURE allergy friendly rooms. The central locations of the properties also provide convenient access to many of Southwest Florida’s attractions.

Though the Hilton Garden Inn Sarasota-Bradenton Airport lobby was recently updated to fit the national brand’s “project grow” initiative, under Chesapeake’s management, both hotels will undergo additional updates for the extensive new product improvement plan (PIP) totaling around $3 million.

The addition of these properties to Chesapeake’s portfolio demonstrates the company’s recent growth. The company has more than doubled in size by expanding its hotels under management from 11 properties in 2011 to 27 properties today.
