SCOTTSDALE, AZ—JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort & Spa will add Lincoln Restaurant and Bar 1936 to the resort’s portfolio, opening Oct. 2016. With views of Camelback Mountain and an outdoor demonstration kitchen and grill, Lincoln will offer the city an interactive dining experience, according to the hotel.
The menu at Lincoln Restaurant will be crafted by Exec. Chef Chris Neff, who joins Camelback Inn from JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge, where he led his team at Meritage Steakhouse as Chef de Cuisine. He also worked at The Four Seasons Orlando Resort, where he opened AAA Five-Diamond restaurants Capa and Ravello.
Named after Lincoln Drive, the street on which JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort & Spa is located, the restaurant’s menu reflects the resort’s strong ties to local farms, according to the hotel. The restaurant will showcase modern American cuisine prepared with products locally sourced from Crow’s Dairy, McClendon’s Select, Abby Lee Farms, Jojoba Beef Company, Ramona Farms and Hayden Flour Mills, among others.
“The atmosphere, menu and overall Lincoln Restaurant and Bar 1936 experience we are creating will be inspired by the resort’s heritage and everyday desert surroundings,” said Chef Neff. “We will use quality products to create dynamic plates by tapping into Arizona’s native resources and sourcing only the best local ingredients.”
Bar 1936, whose name represents Camelback Inn’s 80-year history, will mirror Lincoln Restaurant with a selection of homegrown cocktails, focusing on house-made mixers and craft ice cubes. As with Lincoln, the beverage offerings at Bar 1936 will predominately reflect Camelback Inn’s natural surroundings through both its concoctions and garnishes alike, using spirits from CaskWerks Distilling Co. and Arizona Distilling Company, according to the company.
Catering to both local Metro Phoenix residents and guests of Camelback Inn, Lincoln Restaurant & Bar 1936 will offer a community-oriented environment with an open-air outdoor kitchen and pizza oven on the Chef’s Patio, and cooking demonstrations, complemented by views of Camelback Mountain, according to the resort.
