PHOENIX HOTEL BUSINESS. has learned that Best Western International has filled the position of VP/General Counsel with Nir Margalit. This is a new position for the company, and for the first time brings its legal functions in-house.
Margalit most recently served as evp/general counsel for the Raintree Healthcare Corp., and prior to that he worked for Capstar (now MeriStar) as vp/development and special counsel.
The executive sales and marketing position at Best Western remains open. According to the company, we are currently looking to fill that slot but have not made any decisions yet. (9/18/00) Shannon McMullen
