INDIANAPOLIS— A planned 250-room hotel addition at the Belterra Casino in southeastern Indiana is being postponed indefinitely, owner Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. said. The Las Vegas-based gaming company, in its first-quarter earnings statement, said it was postponing the $45-million project because of “significant expansion of gaming in this market.” That includes Indianapolis, where Indiana lawmakers recently approved the installation of 2,000 slot machines at two racetracks. Pinnacle said the money will be diverted to other markets. The company is planning or developing casino resorts in St. Louis; Lake Charles and Baton Rouge, LA; and Atlantic City, NJ. Belterra Casino Resort & Spa, near Vevay, IN., includes a 600-room hotel, a variety of restaurants and casual dining venues, a golf course and conference space.
