SYDNEY—Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. has signed a long-term management agreement to launch its Aloft brand here.

Set to open in November 2016, the deal was made with 302 Pitt Operations Pty Ltd., an affiliate of Melbourne-based investment and development company Ninety Four Feet P/L.

The 136-room Aloft Sydney Pitt Street will be located in the middle of Sydney’s Koreatown district, near the city’s business center and transportation, and a short distance to Hyde Park and Pitt Street Mall.

Retaining various elements of the historic 1909 building, the new Aloft hotel will feature loft-like guestrooms with signature amenities: platform beds, walk-in showers with Bliss Spa products, complimentary bottled water and coffee. In addition, free wireless Internet access will be available throughout the hotel and plug-and-play connectivity to connect electronic devices to the 42-in. flat-screen TV.

Aloft Sydney Pitt Street will join Starwood’s portfolio in Australia, which currently is comprised of 10 operating hotels across the country.
