INTERNATIONAL REPORT—In cities in the U.S. and Canada, hotels are undergoing rebranding. Here’s a look at the recent changes:

Crescent Hotels & Resorts Adds Westchester Hotel
Crescent Hotels & Resorts and Glacier Global Partners revealed plans for a renovation and the rebranding of The Ritz-Carlton New York, Westchester. The hotel is projected to reopen early 2021 as part of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection brand and will be managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts.

The multimillion-dollar renovation is set to commence later this summer and will include a full redesign and reconstruction of the existing hotel. When completed, the hotel will have a redesigned lobby with a new lobby bar, lounge and a coffee bar, along with a renovation of all 146 rooms. In addition, the ballroom and private event spaces will be reimagined and expanded to include a new bridal suite and seating capacity for 400 people.

The Last Hotel Reveals New Management and Brand Affiliation
HRI Lodging LLC, the newly appointed management company of The Last Hotel, revealed that the property has joined The Unbound Collection by Hyatt. The Last Hotel is the brand’s first property in Missouri.

The Last Hotel, located in downtown St. Louis’ Garment District, opened summer 2019 following a $54-million, 18-month restoration and renovation of the city’s International Shoe Company building. The historic 10-story building, originally constructed in 1909, has 142 guestrooms, more than 7,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, three F&B outlets and a year-round rooftop pool and lounge.

Coast Hotels Expands Presence on Vancouver Island
Coast Hotels has entered into a franchise agreement to convert the Sandcastle Inn, Parksville, BC in Vancouver to a Coast Hotels property—Coast Parksville Hotel. The 36‐room hotel, which underwent modernization, is located in the beachside community of Parksville. Coast Parksville marks Coast Hotels fourth property on Vancouver Island; it has existing properties in Victoria (Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina by APA), Nanaimo (Coast Bastion Hotel) and Campbell River (Coast Discovery Inn). In 2021, Coast Hotels will also add a property in Duncan.
