SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA—The ibis budget Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun has opened here, marking the brand’s first hotel in South Korea.

North of the Han River, this 195-room hotel is located near to Dongdaemun Design Plaza mall and the districts of Myeong-dong and Chunggyechen Stream. The hotel can be reached by subway.

Design elements of the property include pastel colors, contemporary wooden furniture and warm lighting.

Amenities at the hotel include a fitness center and sauna, as well as a restaurant.

Patrick Basset, COO, Accor Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines, stated, “With the successful opening of our ibis hotels in Seoul and Busan, we are proud and excited to introduce the first ibis budget hotel in South Korea. We saw an increasing demand in Seoul for international-standard accommodations coupled with affordable pricing; we therefore believe this hotel will become a favorite amongst domestic and international travelers visiting this vibrant city.”

In addition, there will be three new Accor properties in South Korea before the end of the first quarter of 2015: Novotel Ambassador Suwon, ibis budget Ambassador Busan Haeundae and ibis Styles Ambassador Seoul Myeongdong.
