LUANDA, ANGOLA—AccorHotels and the Angolan group, AAA Activos LDA, have opened ibis Styles IU Talatona.
The opening is part of AAA Activos LDA’s plans to open 50 hotels ranging from economy to luxury under management contracts.
Minister of Hospitality and Tourism of Angola Paulino Baptista, said, “The opening of this hotel marks an important milestone in the hospitality and tourism sector, as it symbolizes the entry of one of the largest hotel chains in the world in our country, thus placing Angola on the international tourist route.”

The property is located near the Avennida Shopping Mall, Talatona Convention Centre and the International Exhibition Centre.
The hotel offers 60 rooms, two meeting rooms, one restaurant and a large reception room. The rooms are equipped with king-size beds, a digital television, minibar, safe, telephone, internet and air conditioning.
Set to open on Nov. 28 and Dec. 15 are ibis Styles IU Viana and Cacuaco, respectively. Both hotels have 180 rooms. During the first-quarter 2017, ibis Styles IU will open in the provincial capitals of Angola. Eventually, 27 hotels will be grouped under ibis Styles, 22 under Mercure Grand Hotel and one under the luxury brand Sofitel.
AAA Activos LDA’s commitment in Angola, which has 25 million inhabitants with 40% actively working, according to the company, also involves the training of 3,000 local employees. The group has partnered with the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Lisbon to set up a hospitality school within a hotel and provide training to the teams on site.
