INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has added fashion designer Zac Posen to its Rosewood Curators program, a select group of luminaries and leaders who share travel recommendations and insider tips for Rosewood destinations around the world. Posen previously served as a judge on the TV show Project Runway and is the creative director for Brooks Brothers. He joins Rosewood Curators on behalf of Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, Rosewood’s iconic property in Dallas.
London’s One Aldwych, Covent Garden, a luxury independently owned hotel and member of Leading Hotels of the World, has named Simon Hirst as managing director. Home to 93 guestrooms and 12 suites plus two restaurants, Hirst returns to the hotel where he launched the property as GM. He rejoins One Aldwych as a board member and managing director. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry to his new position at One Aldwych.
New York’s Bowery Hotel has tapped Chef Carlo Bigi to lead the culinary charge at Gemma, the hotel’s Italian trattoria, as executive chef. A native of Turin, Italy, Chef Bigi plans to expand the menu with creative Northern Italian dishes and local, seasonal ingredients.
He has held positions at multiple esteemed restaurants worldwide, including Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria, an upscale Mediterranean-Italian restaurant in New York City’s East Village; Casa Lever and Sant Ambroeus Restaurant on Madison Ave.; and a number of Michelin-starred restaurants in Italy and France.
