Cannon Joins IHG As VP, Brand Management

ATLANTA— InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed Janis Cannon to the position of vp of brand management for InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in the Americas. In her new role, Cannon is responsible for overseeing marketing strategies and tactical marketing programs for InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in the Americas. She will develop growth strategies, including distribution methods and brand standards, and will oversee field marketing operations. Prior to her appointment, Cannon was the deputy commissioner of tourism for the Georgia Department of Economic Development. She also has a background in the hotel industry and has held positions with Swissotel and worked at several Holiday Inn properties in sales capacities.
