BETHESDA, MD— In three separate deals, Host Marriott Corporation has sold six hotels for a combined total of about $223 million. The properties include the Albuquerque Marriott in Albuquerque, NM; the Bethesda Marriott in Bethesda, MD; the Hartford Marriott Farmington in Hartford, CT; the Salt Lake City Marriott; the Tampa Marriott Westshore in Tampa, FL; and the Torrance Marriott in Torrance, CA. Host Marriott plans on putting the sale proceeds toward the acquisition of upper-upscale or luxury hotels, return-on-investment projects, the repayment of debt obligations and other corporate purposes. The company will realize a book gain in excess of $45 million because of the dispositions.
