Aloft Tokyo Ginza

INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Two brands—Marriott’s Aloft and IHG’s Holiday Inn & Suites—have opened their first Japan properties.

Aloft Tokyo Ginza
The first property from Marriott International’s Aloft Hotels brand in Japan, Aloft Tokyo Ginza, has opened. With an original design concept inspired by Ginza’s “Miyuki-zoku” youth subculture movement of the 1960s, the property showcases an eclectic mix of neon colors, graffiti and urban art inspired by Tokyo’s street culture.

Located in Ginza, Tokyo’s most famous shopping, dining and entertainment district, the hotel has 205 loft-like guestrooms with 9-ft. ceilings, 55-in. flatscreen 4K televisions, walk-in rainfall showers and free WiFi. Dining and social spaces include The Warehouse all-day dining restaurant, Roof Dogs open-air rooftop bar, Re:fuel by Aloft grab-and-go market, Re:mix Lounge and W XYZ Bar. The property also offers the brand’s signature Live at Aloft Hotels music program, and the Re:charge fitness center.

Holiday Inn & Suites Shin Osaka
IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has opened Holiday Inn & Suites Shin Osaka, Japan’s first Holiday Inn hotel featuring a suites product. The property offers 185 rooms, 126 of which include a kitchen space equipped with a full-sized refrigerator and microwave, a dedicated dining room and laundry room with washer and dryer. The hotel also includes two meeting spaces, fitness facilities and the Café Hi! restaurant.

The hotel is close to Shin-Osaka Station, where guests will find the Shinkansen (bullet train) connections, the rail terminal gateway to Kansai and access to Kansai International Airport and Osaka International Airport (Itami). Holiday Inn & Suites Shin-Osaka will cover the cost of guests’ taxi fares from Shin-Osaka station upon check-in.
