Execs on the Move: Orange Lake Resorts, Marriott International, More…

INTERNATIONAL REPORT—Hotel Business has been tracking personnel moves around the industry. Here are recent appointments from Orange Lake Resorts, Marriott International and Auberge Resorts Collection:

Orange Lake Resorts Names John Staten COO

Orange Lake Resorts, home to the Holiday Inn Club Vacations brand, has named John Staten its chief operating officer. Previously, Staten served as COO for Kaplan Higher Education. As COO, he will help create customer-centric owner and guest experiences by using data and technology to anticipate needs and eliminate guest friction points. Staten will lead the various operational teams behind Holiday Inn Club Vacations, including resort management, Club and owner support, rental and inventory, mortgage portfolio and servicing and technology.

Marriott International Appoints Margaret McCarthy to Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of Marriott International Inc. has appointed Margaret M. McCarthy, EVP at CVS Health Corporation, as an independent director of the company. McCarthy will also be included in the company’s slate of nominees for election at Marriott’s upcoming 2019 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. Her appointment expands the membership of the Board to 14, 11 of whom are independent. She will also serve on the company’s Audit Committee. As EVP at CVS Health, McCarthy is a leader in the company’s technology transition following its acquisition of Aetna. McCarthy is slated to depart CVS Health in May. She brings substantial experience in data management and security.

Auberge Resorts Collection Names Edward Linsley General Manager and Regional VP

Auberge Resorts Collection has named Edward Linsley general manager of Mayflower Inn & Spa and regional vice president. A hotelier with a career honed at marquee properties around the globe, Linsley will provide regional leadership for Auberge’s three Northeast properties: Mayflower Inn & Spa, Washington, CT; the Vanderbilt, Newport, RI; and the White Barn Inn, Kennebunk, ME. Most recently, he served as senior general manager with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in the Indian Ocean, overseeing both Four Seasons Resort Seychelles and its sister property, the private ­island enclave Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island.
