PHUKET, THAILAND—Wyndham Hotel Group and Parisorn Company, Ltd. have signed a management agreement to bring The Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay here in November. It will be the brand’s first Wyndham Grand property in South East Asia.
Club Wyndham Asia, a part of the Wyndham Vacation Ownership business, has also signed an agreement subject to specified requirements, which once complete, will give members access to luxury apartments at the resort.
Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay’s 214 rooms and facilities are designed to highlight its locale nestled on the edge of a cliff, which boasts sweeping views of the Andaman Sea. The resort is proximate to the city’s entertainment precinct.
“Wyndham Grand hotels are located in some of the world’s most sought after destinations, including Shanghai, Istanbul, Chicago and now Phuket. The brand’s premium offerings and distinctive experiences create a perfect platform to deliver our unique mixed-use model to travelers looking for an approachable take on luxurious travel in Thailand,” said Barry Robinson, president and managing director, Wyndham Hotel Group South East Asia and Pacific Rim. “This mixed-use development model is unique to Wyndham Hotel Group and our vacation ownership business arm. We are committed to growing our vacation ownership portfolio in Asia and I am sure our Club Wyndham Asia members will appreciate this new luxurious option for their future travels.”
The resort’s guestrooms will bring the outdoors in by illuminating its setting and sea views. The standard rooms will provide high-end furnishings and a full suite of in-room amenities. Each of the resort’s 152 pool villas, the most in the Kalim-Patong area, will feature a private outdoor sundeck and an infinity pool overlooking the ocean, according to the company.
Dining options include two restaurants serving authentic Thai cuisine and international favorites. Leisure facilities will include two outdoor swimming pools overlooking the sea; a spa offering traditional Thai therapies; a gymnasium; and a kids club. In addition, the ballroom will feature high ceilings and expansive glass panels to provide a versatile backdrop for a variety of events.
Wyndham Hotel Group is actively expanding its diverse footprint of offerings in the region, signing a new Wyndham hotel in Danang, Vietnam.
The company currently has nearly 8,000 properties worldwide with more than 1,200 hotels open and operating across the Asia Pacific Region under its Ramada, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Days Inn, TRYP by Wyndham and Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Super 8 brands.
