MERRILLVILLE, IN—White Lodging has taken over the management of the Hampton Inn & Suites Omaha-Downtown and Homewood Suites by Hilton Omaha-Downtown in Nebraska.

This addition expands White Lodging’s managed portfolio to 161 hotels, including three in Omaha, and the company’s sixth Hampton property and sixth Homewood Suites.

“We are very excited to continue to grow our portfolio and strengthen our presence in downtown Omaha,” said Hunter Carmichael, regional director of operations. “The hotels are great assets in a prime location. We know our guests will enjoy everything each hotel has to offer.”

The hotels will be brought into the White Lodging portfolio under the leadership of Carmichael and General Manager Jason Smith. Smith previously served as the general manager of Hilton Garden Inn Lake Forest/Mettawa in Illinois.

“I’m very excited about the opportunity in Omaha,” said Smith. “We’re looking forward to demonstrating White Lodging’s ability to deliver exceptional results and add value to these assets.”

Smith brings more than 18 years of hospitality experience to the properties. Prior to joining White Lodging and the Hilton Garden Inn Lake Forest/Mettawa team in 2011, he was the opening general manager of the Homewood Suites Wilmington/Mayfaire in North Carolina. In that state, he was also the opening general manager at Hampton Inn Wilmington – University Area, and general manager of Residence Inn Chapel Hill, Residence Inn Crabtree Valley in Raleigh and Hampton Inn & Suites Wilmington. Smith graduated with a degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.

The 139- room Hampton Inn & Suites Omaha-Downtown provides complimentary WiFi, hot breakfast and a fitness center. The hotel also features an indoor pool and a professional business center. With 759 sq. ft. of event space, the hotel can host meetings and special events for up to 57 guests. The hotel is located near CenturyLink Center, Omaha’s premier convention center and arena; Creighton University; University of Nebraska Medical Center; and the historic Old Market area.

The 123-room Homewood Suites by Hilton Omaha-Downtown offers complimentary Internet, daily free full-hot breakfast and complimentary evening social Monday through Thursday. It also offers fully equipped kitchens, separate sleeping and living spaces, a complimentary grocery shopping service and recreational options such as a fitness center and indoor pool. The hotel is located across from the TD Ameritrade Park, minutes from Interstate 480, and less than four miles from Eppley (OMA) Airfield.
