NATIONAL REPORT—The hotel industry is seeing some activity up North with projects in metropolitan hubs and other destinations.

Courtyard By Marriott Opens in Hudson Yards District

Courtyard by Marriott New York Midtown West is now open. Featuring 399 well-appointed guestrooms, including 26 suites, as well as a custom room design, the new hotel provides flexibility and choices that allow guests to optimize and elevate their travel experience. Located at 461 West 34th St., the 28-story hotel operates as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Endeavor Hospitality Group.

Guestrooms offer the familiar Courtyard comfort, with added touches, such as hypoallergenic comforters, Kimono bathrobes and jacquard-loom designed bath towels. Additional amenities include Cuisinart coffee brewers, rain showerheads and complimentary WiFi.

Cambria Unveils Downtown Boston Location

Cambria Hotels marked one of South Boston’s newest additions and its first location in Massachusetts—the Cambria Hotel Boston, Downtown-South Boston.

The property features design-forward amenities that bring the essence of Boston to life for modern travelers, including a 4,000-sq.-ft. rooftop bar and lounge that offers expansive, unobstructed city views and a full-service menu, including weekend brunch. Guestrooms have walnut-finished platform beds with plush linens, modern fixtures, abundant lighting and spa-like bathrooms.

Elsewhere, antique books, 20th-century typewriters, marble finishes and hues of emerald green throughout the lobby, restaurant and bar invite modern guests to reimagine the great libraries and reading rooms of the city’s past, according to the brand.

Dual-Branded Courtyard and Residence Inn Opens in Albany, NY

A combined 130-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel and 85-suite Residence Inn by Marriott hotel has opened in Albany, NY. Located at 227 Wolf Rd., the hotels are owned in a partnership between Hampstead America LLC and First Columbia, and managed by DelMonte Hotel Group of Rochester, NY. The hotels share an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center and 675 sq. ft. of functional meeting space to accommodate events for up to 40 people.

Located one mile from Albany International Airport and a short distance to downtown, the dual-brand offers access to the Times Union Center, the University at Albany College, the New York State Capitol the Empire State Plaza and Crossgates Mall.

Hilton Garden Inn Opens in Pittsburgh Area

Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Area/Beaver Valley and Jacksons Restaurant + Bar is now open. The hotel/restaurant is the latest development project by Millcraft Hotel Division. The hotel brings 139 guestrooms and 2,600 sq. ft. of private event space to Beaver County. Located adjacent to the hotel, Jacksons Restaurant + Bar features seating for more than 200 guests and additional banquet space. The hotel and restaurant bring nearly 100 new job opportunities to the region, according to the company.
