NATIONAL REPORT—Cities in the Northeast are seeing some hotel activity. Here’s a look at the properties opening their doors in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, and New Jersey:

Hotel Indigo Comes to Brooklyn, NY
Hotel Indigo Williamsburg Brooklyn, a187-room Valor Hospitality Partners and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) hotel is now open in Williamsburg, a section of Brooklyn, NY. The hotel has a dual-level restaurant, open-air sundeck with a pool and the flexible event space with nearly 20,000 sq. ft. Designed by Kutnicki Bernstein Architects and Cl-oth Interiors, Hotel Indigo Williamsburg Brooklyn has 25 suites, including bi-level Loft Suites and a 1,100-sq.-ft. Williamsburg Grand Suite. Additional amenities include an outdoor courtyard and fitness center.

Hotel Kinsley Opens in Kingston, NY
Now open, Hotel Kinsley is the first destination hotel to open in the Hudson Valley town of Kingston, NY. Composed of four restored historic buildings dating from 1688 to the late 19th century in the Uptown Stockade District, the 43-room hotel was developed by CBSK Ironstate. Studio Robert McKinley brings the interiors to life by taking cues from each property’s distinct architectural details, such as centuries-old tile work and original tin ceilings. The hotel’s buildings will open in succession over a period of several months.

CitizenM Expands with First Hotel in Boston
CitizenM is now open above Boston’s North Station. The 272-room hotel is located in Boston’s North End. The hotel is also connected to TD Garden—New England’s multipurpose arena for sports, concerts and conventions. CitizenM Boston North Station was built in collaboration with design-firm concrete Amsterdam, and Gensler. The hotel has 24/7 food and beverage options and meeting spaces.

The Whitney Hotel Debuts in Boston’s Beacon Hill
The Whitney, a 65-room luxury boutique hotel, has opened in Boston’s historic Beacon Hill. Developed by Related Beal and operated by Hersha Hospitality Management (HHM), the property was designed by Boston-based Hacin + Associates, reflecting Beacon Hill’s classic brick townhouse style. The hotel has food and beverage options, a fitness studio and outdoor courtyard designed by Boston-based Matthew Cunningham Landscape Design.

Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center Opens
The Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center is now open. Hotel Business was on the scene during its construction. The entire Comcast Center building and the interiors and furnishings of Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia have been designed by architect Norman Foster of Foster + Partners. The hotel has 180 rooms and 39 suites. Amenities include food and beverage outlets, including a restaurant from Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten; a health and wellness center; spa; and meeting and event spaces.

EnVue Opens Along the Hudson River in NJ
EnVue is now open in Weehawken, NJ, joining Marriott International’s Autograph Collection.
The 208-room, 10-story waterfront hotel is managed by HEI Hotels & Resorts of Norwalk, CT. EnVue is owned and developed by Ro subsidiary of Mack-Cali. Situated on the Hudson River, the hotel has access to Times Square, Central Park, Madison Square Garden and MetLife Stadium in New York City. EnVue includes food and beverage options, a fitness center, meeting and event spaces and is LEED-certified.

The MC Hotel Comes to Montclair, NJ
The MC Hotel, an Autograph Collection Hotel, has opened in Montclair, NJ. The hotel is managed by Aparium Hotel Group, making this the group’s entrance into the East Coast. The 159-room, 120,000-sq.-ft. ground-up development has a full conference and social event space; and Allegory, a full-service lobby restaurant, and Alto, an indoor/outdoor rooftop bar and lounge. Conceptualized by Dash Design’s David Ashen, The MC Hotel’s public spaces are designed to emulate a gallery space, showcasing the hotel’s local and nationally curated art collection.
