PHOENIX — Atlanta-based US Franchise Systems, parent company of the franchisors of the Microtel Inns & Suites, Hawthorn and Best Inns & Suites hotel brands, announced that it has selected the WinPM system, developed by Phoenix-based Multi-Systems Inc., as its exclusive property-management system platform. All Hawthorn Suites extended-stay brand hotels will transition to the MSI WinPM system, although no deadline for the transition has been established, according to USFS. Properties that joined the franchise system beginning March 1, 2004, are required to install WinPM. Approximately 45 of the 112 Hawthorn Suites properties now open are using the system.
