CARY, NC— A new upscale hotel is set has begun operations in Cary, NC, near William B. Umstead State Park. The six-story, 150-room hotel is known as the Umstead Hotel and Spa. The architectural firm Three created the architectural design of the property. The hotel’s exterior features native Texas rough-cut limestone, aluminum metal panels and bronze-colored glass. Guestrooms were designed with continuous ribbon glass windows from floor to ceiling. The hotel features a 14,000-square-foot, two-story spa and fitness center located adjacent to the main building. The hotel also offers 10,200 square feet of indoor conference space and a 6,327-square-foot outdoor lawn area for meetings and events. The project’s team members also included landscape architect EDAW; interior designer Frank Nicholson, Inc.; and spa consultant Health Fitness Dynamics.
