BEVERLY HILLS, CA- Hilton Group Plc and Hilton Hotels Corp. are discussing a joint venture to expand the Conrad hotel chain worldwide, which currently consists of seven properties in Europe and Asia.
According to a spokesperson at Hilton Hotels, executives at the company are confident that theyll reach an agreement in the near future.
The two companies, which already have joint guest services and reservations systems, have no immediate plans to merge. However, previous reports suggest that the companies have considered merging in the past and have not ruled out the possibility of a merger in the future. –Shannon McMullen (8/25/00)
