Rockbridge has introduced Noelle to Nashville, TN.

NATIONAL REPORT—A variety of hotel openings have marked activity this week. Here are a few to know:

Rockbridge Brings Noelle to Nashville

Rockbridge has opened Noelle, a reimagined 224-room hotel housed in the former home of one of downtown Nashville, TN’s first luxury properties, Noel Place.

Rockbridge used the property’s Art Deco roots and location on historic Printers Alley to conceive the property located at Fourth Ave. and Church St.

Locally based architects Feltus Hawkins Design, Nick Dryden of Dryden Architecture and Design, and creative branding firm Peck & Company, led by Benji Peck, were involved in the revamp of the 13-story building, which was opened in 1930 by the Noels, a prominent Nashville family.

The hotel features a restaurant, Makeready Libations & Liberation; a rooftop bar, Rare Bird; a coffee shop, Drug Store Coffee; a retail store, Keep Shop; and a working print shop, Little Prints. A new tower, complete with a rooftop lounge, expands Noelle’s original footprint, with views overlooking the Cumberland River and Nissan Stadium.

Noelle is part of Tribute Portfolio, Marriott International’s collection of independent hotels and resorts.

Shaner Hotels Opens Daytona Fairfield Inn & Suites

Shaner Hotel Group recently marked the grand opening of the 105-room Fairfield Inn & Suites Daytona Beach Speedway/Airport in Florida.

The hotel is owned by a joint venture among Prime Hospitality Group, the International Speedway Corp. and Shaner, which is operating the property.

CEO Lance Shaner noted the hotel is in a prime location. The four-story property is one of two hotels to anchor One Daytona, a mixed-use destination located across from Daytona International Speedway. The Fairfield is proximate the Richard Petty Race Experience, Daytona Beach, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and the Boardwalk Amusement Center.

“We continue to have a healthy appetite for new development of well-branded hotels in unique marketplaces with high barriers to entry and numerous, irreplaceable demand generators,” noted Plato Ghinos, Shaner’s president. “This marks the fourth addition to our portfolio this year, and we remain on track to open and/or acquire an additional four hotels by year’s end 2018.”

Taking Up Residence (Inn) in California

The Residence Inn Santa Barbara Goleta has opened near the University of California, Santa Barbara.

R.D. Olson Development debuted its mission-style hotel at 6350 Hollister Ave. It offers 118 studio, one- and two-bedroom suites with modern decor, functional furnishings and technology geared for both transient and extended stays.

Features include a fitness center, 1,098 sq. ft. of meeting space, pool, outdoor courtyard with fire pits, barbeque area, life-size chess board and a garden that honors the Chumash Native American settlement that once stood on the hotel’s grounds.
