SAVANNAH, GA Two limited-service hotels are slated to go up here in the next year. The first is a 155-room, five-story Courtyard by Marriott being built at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Liberty Street. The $14-million project is being developed by McKibbon Hotel Properties of Gainesville. The hotel, which is slated to open in the spring of 2001, will feature a bar, lounge, dining and meeting rooms, an outdoor pool, an indoor spa and an exercise room.
A $5 million Comfort Suites is also being developed in the Savannah Historic District. The three-story, 76-room hotel will offer all-studio suites on 2.5 acres of land. The Comfort Suites is scheduled to open in 2001.
Savannah s hotel supply totals about 9,000 rooms. The city expects to add another 400 to 450 rooms before the end of next year. (9/4/00)
