Pelican Grand Beach Resort Pays Tribute to Florida Location With Design

Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, FL—part of Noble House Hotels & Resorts collection—has started a $7-million guestroom renovation, scheduled for completion in December. The transformation includes the complete redesign of 145 guestrooms and 16 suites, as well as the creation of eight luxury suites.

Conceptualized by Seattle-based architecture and interior design firm, Degen & Degen, the team was tasked to lead the charge formulating a design concept representative of Fort Lauderdale’s coastline. Accessorized with coastal artwork by local artisans using a variety of materials from frame prints and canvas to driftwood and nautical rope, each room will also have spa-inspired fixtures, free-standing soaking tubs, walk-in showers and quartz countertops.

Lake Tahoe Ski Resort Renovates Lobby and Event Spaces

Resort at Squaw Creek in Lake Tahoe, CA will undergo a $2-million lobby and meetings and event spaces renovation, set to be completed by January 2019.

Led by Chicago-based interior design firm, Looney & Associates, the lobby redesign will begin in late October and the meetings and event spaces will follow in November. The forthcoming lobby and meeting space updates will add new details, furniture and enhanced lighting throughout the hotel.

Texas Embassy Suites Updates as Part of Brand Refresh

American Hotel Income Properties has completed approximately $5.2 million of renovations at its Embassy Suites DFW South, near the Dallas/Fort Worth airport in Irving, TX.

Key aspects of this renovation project include a completely rebuilt atrium with a new bar, breakfast restaurant, communal seating areas and digital docking tables. The lobby has a new water feature, greenery and steel sculptural elements. In addition, all of the elevators at this property have been replaced and modernized with new technology and the exterior of the building was repainted.

Most Embassy Suites by Hilton hotels are undergoing a significant design refresh to cater to the changing needs and preferences of today’s business and leisure travelers.

Vancouver Hotel Revamps Meeting Spaces

Fairmont Hotel Vancouver has introduced an additional eight rooms and 8,000 sq. ft. of meeting space on the Discovery Floor with a meeting space for small and mid-sized gatherings. The new meeting space is in a dedicated wing with connection to the original Discovery Floor and historic Conference Floor. The hotel plans to be completely renovated for its 80th anniversary in 2019.

The floor takes its name from the Discovery Islands located on Canada’s West Coast and each of the islands—and in this case, function space—has a distinct personality. With the addition of the Discovery Floor, the hotel now has 24 function rooms, two grand ballrooms and 63,000 sq. ft. of flexible space.
