CHICAGO—Industry veteran Tim Brown has been named chief development officer for Great Wolf Resorts.

Brown, who begins his new duties as CDO in early December, will lead development for the company at a time when it is poised to expand its “paw print” nationally.

“As we look to expand the Great Wolf Lodge resort experience to new markets, and make significant investments into our existing resort locations, we are excited to have Tim join our Pack,” said Murray Hennessy, CEO, Great Wolf Lodge. “We already have a strong development team in place, and with Tim’s leadership abilities and breadth of experience, he will add tremendous value as we continue our impressive growth trajectory.”

Brown honed his development expertise across several brands. He most recently was global head of construction for Hyatt Hotels Corp. Prior to Hyatt, he oversaw the development of approximately $1 billion in real estate as EVP development for Turnberry Associates, a Florida-based company that develops, owns and operates hotels, malls/retail centers, office buildings and condominium projects. Before joining Turnberry, Brown managed resort projects globally as SVP development for Kerzner International. Earlier in his career, Brown held roles with a multi-disciplinary engineering company, a general contractor and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company prior to the Marriott acquisition.

“The pace of development at Great Wolf Resorts over the past couple years has been extraordinary,” said Brown. “I’m excited to join, and lead, the incredible team of development professionals Great Wolf assembled, and look forward to helping the brand continue expanding its growing footprint.”
