BROOKLYN, NY—Thor Equities plans to construct a hotel as part of an extensive redevelopment of Coney Island, a faded oceanfront amusement area here. Thor, which last year acquired–and is presently renovating–the Palmer House Hotel in Chicago, plans to remake Coney Island into a $1.5 billion entertainment enclave. Details were not yet available on the size of brand of the proposed hotel.
