NATIONAL REPORT—From her first hotel job as a front-desk clerk to her current role as the general manager of the new Ironworks Hotel in Indianapolis, Amy Isbell-Williams has always had a knack for connecting with guests and creating memorable experiences—and that’s been her main focus since the luxury boutique hotel opened last September.
Like its sister hotel in Wisconsin, Ironworks Hotel Indy draws its design inspiration from America’s industrial heritage. Reclaimed barn wood, reused piping, Edison bulbs, custom artwork created from paper-mill molds, and a repurposed World War II-era crane that serves as the porte-cochère are among the design elements that transport guests back in time. As they take in the beautiful 19th-century decor, guests are also treated to an exclusive scent that’s unique to Ironworks and other Geronimo Hospitality Group properties, helping them relax as soon as their stay begins.
Isbell-Williams prides herself on anticipating her guests’ every need, and her efforts don’t go unnoticed. Guests rave about the amenities offered in their luxurious rooms, especially the spa-like bathrooms and the first-class mattresses they can fall into at the end of the day. And if past guests make a reservation when they return to Indianapolis, Isbell-Williams knows she’s given them an experience no other hotel can duplicate.
The sleep experience
Ironworks Hotel has a motto: “A hard day’s work deserves a soft place to lay your head.” The plush Tempur Sealy® beds certainly provide that, allowing guests to get the rest they need to recharge and enjoy the next day.
Putting the beds to the test
Isbell-Williams wants to ensure her guests have the best experience possible, which is why she slept on a Stearns & Foster® mattress at the Ironworks Hotel in Wisconsin before the Indianapolis location opened. It passed the test—and she knows her guests love the mattress, too, when they ask her where they can purchase one of their own.
An experience defined by luxury
Whether they’re taking advantage of the rainforest showerheads, and then relaxing on their comfortable bed after a long day, enjoying a glass of champagne in their room, or marveling at the custom pieces found throughout the hotel, guests are surrounded by luxury. Every part of the hotel—from the architecture to the aroma to the mattresses—was made with guests at top of mind. The comfort of the hotel allows Isbell-Williams and the rest of the team to showcase their unique approach to hospitality and to deliver an extraordinary guest experience.
