HOUSTON—This city’s most historic hotel, The Sam Houston, has joined Curio – A Collection by Hilton. Built in 1924 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Sam Houston is located in the heart of downtown Houston, near the Theater District, major corporations, sports and entertainment venues, urban parks and some of the area’s most popular places to shop and dine.
“The unique historical significance, local admiration and genuine hospitality found at The Sam Houston truly embodies the spirit of the Curio collection,” said Dianna Vaughan, global head, Curio – A Collection by Hilton. “We are excited to celebrate and preserve Houston’s longest running hotel, while providing guests with the reassurance of quality that comes with the Hilton name, together with the benefits of our award-winning Hilton HHonors program.”
The iconic 10-story building offers 100 guestrooms and suites that feature an ergonomic work area, a 40-inch LED TV with full HD channel lineup, a Keurig coffeemaker and a granite-walled bathroom with glass shower. Other amenities include a 24-hour fitness center featuring state-of-the-art cardio and weight training equipment and complimentary WiFi throughout the guestrooms and public areas.
“We look forward to bringing our long legacy of excellence and authentic character into a new era with Curio – A Collection by Hilton,” said Vicki Massad, SVP and CEO of American Liberty Hospitality, Inc., the hotel’s owner and operator. “The Sam Houston truly embodies the fabric of its community, and we’re excited Hilton Worldwide has hand-picked this hotel to join its prestigious collection.”

The hotel offers 3,000 sq. ft. of one-of-a-kind event spaces including Veranda by *17, The Raven Room and Mockingbird Boardroom.
