The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago Undergoes Reno

CHICAGO—The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago will embark upon phase one of a multi-phase renovation in January. The upgrades will include the refashioning of the suites and corridors, upgrades to a state-of-the-art fitness center and the addition of an all-new Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge. San Francisco-based design firm BAMO has been tapped for the redesign. Completion of phase one is expected in spring 2016.

The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge, a Ritz-Carlton hotel brand standard, will be located on the 15th floor. The Club Lounge will offer views of Chicago, including the Magnificent Mile and Lake Michigan, as well as feature exclusive services and privileges. The lounge will offer walnut hardwood floors complemented by clean, modern walnut cabinetry highlighted by hints of blue, gold and brown, which tie into the cinematography of the hotel. The space is designed to resemble a high-end, modern residential apartment with a separate library available for guests to lounge in or rent for private events.

The Ritz-Carlton’s upgraded fitness center will offer unobstructed views of Navy Pier, Lake Michigan and downtown Chicago. Additionally, all suites and guestroom corridors will be refashioned, including upgraded bathrooms of all 90 suites. According to the company, the modern, yet minimalistic design will feature all new arctic glacier white vanities, gray linear stone floors and separate shower and toilet rooms.

Phase two of enhancements will begin January 2017.
