NEW YORK—The Mark Hotel named Domingo E. R. Velasco director of sales and marketing for the luxury hotel.
Velasco has more than 20 years of experience in hospitality, most recently serving five years with Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, where he became area director of sales and marketing, overseeing sales and marketing, public relations, reservations and conference services for both the flagship resort in Bermuda, Rosewood Tucker’s Point, and Rosewood Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands. Previously, he was director of sales and marketing for La Samanna, an Orient Express resort on St. Martin in the French West Indies.
Velasco’s career in hotel sales and marketing started when he first joined Rosewood’s sales team, later becoming associate director of sales at The Carlyle here. He also contributed to the sales and marketing launch of Rocco Forte Hotels in North America and opened the New York Reservations Center for Relais & Chateaux.
His hospitality career started in operations at the El San Juan Hotel and Casino in Puerto Rico, where he had resided for many years.
