ORLANDO, FL—The Delaney Hotel and Delaney’s Tavern moved into its next phase of construction, with official demolition beginning on the interior of the existing building to make room for a 54-room boutique hotel and 6,000-sq.-ft. bar and restaurant.

The $12-million project will include complete renovation and interior rebuild of the three-story building on Orange Ave. between E. Copeland Dr. and Fernwood St. The project will also incorporate exterior improvements and landscaping of the entire city block.

The project is being developed by locally based 1405 South Orlando Partnership LLP, led by Orlando physicians and community leaders Dr. Tom Winters and Dr. Rebecca Moroose. The group is rounded out by additional local partners and Allowe, who will oversee operations of the hotel and restaurant.

The Delaney Hotel and Delaney’s Tavern is expected to be completed in May 2017.
