Supertel Acquires Six-Property Portfolio For $32M

NORFOLK, NE— Supertel Hospitality, Inc., has purchased six midprice hotels, five located in Indiana and one in North Carolina, for $32 million in cash. Supertel acquired the portfolio, which totals 578 rooms, from Independent Property Owners of America. Five of the six hotels carry Choice Hotels Internationals Comfort Inn or Comfort Suites brand. The sixth property is a Hampton Inn and Suites, which is part of Hilton Hotels Corp. The hotels will be managed by Royal Host Management. Supertel Hospitality, a REIT specializing in the mid-market tier, now owns 70 hotels in 16 midwestern and eastern states.
