HENDERSONVILLE, TN Smith Travel Research s preliminary September 2000 figures for the U.S. lodging industry showed occupancy growth slowed somewhat in September versus August performance. September RevPAR growth continued at a good pace and should be in the 5-6% range when final numbers are reported. The data suggests that performance in the latter part of September slowed somewhat versus performance earlier in the month. (10/6/00)
