CHICAGO—Steve Steinberg has joined Murphy Asset Management Group (MAMG) as managing director.
“We are delighted that Steve is joining us,” stated John T. Murphy, president of Murphy Development Group (MDG). “He brings over 15 years of executive level experience to our rapidly growing team. Most recently, he served as president of MEI Hotels, overseeing a highly successful hotel portfolio as well as the asset management and consulting arm of the company.”
Working closely with Murphy and Chris Horney, MDG’s senior associate/development, Steinberg will lead efforts in assisting developers and investor groups in the development, purchase, repositioning and asset management of hotels.
Prior to Steinberg’s role at MEI Hotels, he served as regional director of operations, director of human resources and director of training for Guests, Inc., a Mid-Atlantic-based hotel management company. Steinberg graduated from Virginia Tech in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel, restaurant and institution management.
